VDS Pear & Inverted Cone Burs

VDS Pear shaped and Inverted Cone burs are used in crown preparation for restorations and in endodontic procedures. They both have a curved top, but pear shaped burs create a gentle undercut, while inverted cone shaped burs create a sharp undercut for retaining restorative materials. Care is required with inverted cone burs as the sharp undercut can become fragile. Pear shaped burs are made from tungsten carbide and inverted cone can be tungsten carbide or diamond coated.
